How to size press-on nails

Press-ons only look professionally made when they fit edge to edge. Two ways to get your numbers: the sizing kit (easiest) or the at-home guide below.

The sizing kit

Ten clear tips numbered 0–9, a measuring card and simple instructions. Press each tip on, find the one that sits flush side to side with no gap and no overhang, write down the number. Text or enter your ten numbers at checkout and they're saved for every future order. The $10 is credited toward your first set.

    Try each tip
    Start with your thumb. Lay tips on until one covers the nail edge to edge.
  2. 02
    Flush, not tight
    If a tip pinches or leaves a sliver of bare nail, go one size either way.

    Write it down
    Thumb to pinky, left hand then right. Ten numbers, e.g. 2,5,4,6,9 / 2,5,4,6,9.

Option 2 · at home

Measure with tape and a ruler

Good when you want a set this week and the kit hasn't arrived. Accuracy is a little lower than the kit, so if you're between sizes, choose the larger one — a tip can be filed narrower, never wider.

    Wrap
    Lay a thin strip of paper or flexible tape across the widest part of the nail, sidewall to sidewall.

    Mark
    Mark where the edges meet the skin on both sides. Don't curve over the sidewalls.
  3. 03
    Measure
    Flatten the strip and measure in millimetres. Repeat for all ten nails.
  4. 04
    Match
    Use the chart to convert each width to a tip size.

Most ready-to-ship sets come in three standard size runs. They fit many hands well, but not all — if your thumb and pinky are far apart in width, custom measurements are worth the extra day.

What if a nail doesn't fit when the set arrives?
Text a photo. If it's one or two nails, Kaya sends replacements in the right size. If the measurements were off across the board, the sizing kit is the fix and the next set ships at cost.
Do my sizes change?
Rarely, but they can with weight changes, pregnancy or years of gel. Re-check once a year or whenever a set feels off.
Can I send sizes from another press-on brand?
Yes — note the brand and size numbers at checkout; most convert cleanly. When in doubt, Kaya will text to confirm.
